Club president approaches Southampton to sign €13m striker
Serdal Adalı, the new president of the Besiktas club, is eager to bring Paul Onuachu back to Turkey, according to a report from Fanatik. He has even communicated with Southampton, who maintain that any team must spend €13 million to acquire Onuachu. Paul Onuachu made a big impression while on loan at Trabzonspor. Onuachu scored 15 goals in 21 league games. He is well regarded in Turkey because, during his loan year there, he also emerged as a candidate for the Puskas award.
Thus, the question still stands: Why does Southampton’s team sheet not feature Paul Onuachu as the first name? We can’t yet answer for Ivan Juric, though. Onuachu, however, was a different player under Russell Martin than what his tactical vision called for.
Under Ivan Juric, Paul Onuachu has started his first two games. Consequently, there are indications that Juric likes Onuachu’s style of play and intends to utilize him more than Russell Martin did. With any luck, this will persuade tall Paul to remain at the club. After all, Onuachu is toward the bottom of the list of players Southampton should sell during the January transfer window.
