ASTON villla and Inter Milan are aiming for a PSG veteran amid fading roles

Paris Saint-Germain will have the chance to let go of players who have no future in the French capital when the January transfer market starts in a few hours. Marco Asensio is one of them.
The former Real Madrid player has not even seen minutes off the bench since November 30th, when he was moved out of the starting lineup. Only 11 minutes have been played by Asensio, and that came on December 6th against AJ Auxerre.

Asensio did not make the squad for the Coupe de France Round of 64 match against RC Lens and was benched for three of the final four 2024 Ligue 1 games. Consequently, every indication suggests a possible departure.

Is Marco Asensio no longer with PSG?
According to a Monday report by PSG Inside-Actus, Asensio, who came to PSG with great expectations, is expected to depart the team this winter.

The coach seems to have lost interest in the Spanish winger because of his erratic play and unprofessional demeanor. PSG is apparently thinking of selling in order to reduce the team and raise money for possible additions.

Clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan, Lyon, Aston Villa, Newcastle, MLS, and Asian teams are reportedly interested in Asensio, who is currently deciding between staying until the summer transfer window or transferring this winter.

Since joining the Ligue 1 team in 2023, the 28-year-old has made 46 appearances for PSG in all competitions, tallying seven goals and dishing out eleven assists. According to Transfermarkt, the attacking players are worth €20 million.
