Arsenal’s form in December has improved following a patchy run of results. Mikel Arteta’s side has missed points in only two games this month, a 1-1 draw at Fulham and a painful 0-0 stalemate at home to Everton. However, five wins in their previous five games have surely helped them recover in terms of form. Some of the finest of those triumphs include a 5-1 thumping of Crystal Palace and a 3-0 Champions League victory against high-flying AS Monaco. With the season on the line, Arsenal could try to bolster their team this winter in order to challenge Liverpool for the title, and they have been linked with one La Liga player.

Arsenal target La Liga midfielder

The player in question is Dani Olmo, a Barcelona and Spain midfielder. Despite having only joined the club this summer, the former RB Leipzig star may leave due to registration concerns. According to The Times, the Gunners may consider signing the Spaniard as they seek to strengthen their midfield. They’ve been put on high alert in case a deal becomes available during the winter. However, they would not be the only Premier League club after the attacking midfielder. Manchester United and Manchester City have also been linked, with Olmo available on a free transfer if he does need to leave Barcelona.

Why Olmo would be a good signing

Arsenal have previously been successful in signing Barcelona academy midfielders. Cesc Fabregas joined the club in September 2003 from the La Liga powerhouses. Although the road is not precisely the same, with Olmo departing the club for a few seasons, they have had success recruiting La Masia players.
