Inter leave two big names behind for Supercoppa Italiana
Inter will be missing Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard for the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh, although Matteo Darmian will travel with the team.
The Nerazzurri will fly to Saudi Arabia on Monday for the event, which will once again be held in the Final Four style.
This means that there will be semi-final matches before the winners of those two ties compete for the title.
Scudetto holders Inter face Coppa Italia runners-up Atalanta on January 2, while Coppa Italia winners Juventus face Serie A second-placed Milan on January 3.
According to Sky Sport Italia, coach Simone Inzaghi chose to leave Acerbi and Pavard at the Appiano Gentile training ground to recover from their injuries.
The goal is to prepare them for the return to Serie A action against Venezia on January 12.
Darmian, on the other hand, is improving and will accompany the team to Riyadh after missing games against Como and Cagliari.
