Angus Gunn in hot water as Norwich City and Scotland star charged by FA for ‘acting in an improper manner’
After ‘acting in an unprofessional manner’ while playing for Norwich City, Scotland’s Angus Gunn is facing a ban. The Canaries lost 3-0 to QPR earlier this month, and Gunn was incensed when referee Anthony Backhouse disregarded calls for a foul in the build-up to the home team’s second goal. The FA has given Gunn 48 hours to address the charge. They have given Gunn until Thursday, December 19, to answer to the allegations that the 28-year-old, who started all three of Steve Clarke’s team’s games at Euro 2024, “acted in an improper manner around the tunnel area at half time of this fixture.”
If convicted, he might be banned, joining fellow international Kenny McLean on the sidelines after he received a four-match suspension for an incident during the same game that the referees at the time failed to see. “Angus Gunn has been charged with misconduct following the EFL Championship match between Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, December 7th,” the FA announced in a statement. The goalie has until Thursday, December 19, to answer to allegations that he behaved inappropriately near the tunnel area during halftime of this match.
