‘Always the same players’ – Sheffield Wednesday boss bemoans ‘mistakes’ as Owls fall to Preston North End

Sheffield Wednesday manager, Danny Röhl, was unhappy with some of his players as the Owls fell to a 3-1 defeat at Preston North End.

Wednesday did equalize by a spectacular Josh Windass goal after falling behind 1-0 at halftime to Emil Riis’ opener, but a penalty from Sam Greenwood and a second for Riis sealed the game, as Röhl’s men were unable to attempt another comeback this time.

The Owls were primarily responsible for their own demise since they offered the hosts too many chances, which the Owls manager termed to as ‘presents’, at Deepdale, and the German had no complaints with the outcome as Wednesday’s 2024 ended on a losing note.
