Jude Bellingham brutally mocks Alan Shearer to show true Sunderland colours

Jude Bellingham was snapped appearing to mock Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer during Sunderland’s 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers.

La Liga stars are recuperating over the season’s winter break, a luxury that English players do not have. On British soil, the fixture list heats up with a disastrous schedule between Boxing Day and the New Year.

That allowed Real Madrid superstar Bellingham to watch his brother, Jobe, who plays for Sunderland, as they traveled to Blackburn on Boxing Day. The Black Cats, Newcastle’s arch rivals, notoriously chanted “Shearer is a w*****” to the tune of “he wears a magic hat”.

Shearer is a Rovers legend, having won the Premier League at Ewood Park in 1994-95, therefore Sunderland fans were right to bring out one of their terrace favourites. TV cameras captured Bellingham appearing to join in with the song from the opulent seats.

Shearer criticized England during Euro 2024, but singled out Bellingham for praise. He described the 21-year-old as “arrogant” in a positive light and emphasized his demeanor during interviews.

“He’s phenomenal,” Shearer added. “You can’t help but be amazed by his stature. He has arrogance in a positive sense, and I don’t mean that disrespectfully; to be a top player, you must have that something about you, and he does.

“We all knew he was a fantastic talent, but the way he has gone into one of, if not the, biggest clubs in the world and taken it on as if it’s simply a walk in the park or a game on the street, and he’s playing at the largest club, it’s phenomenal.

“He also impresses with how he handles the media. Fairly or unfairly, you are expected and have a duty as an England player to go out and speak to the media, and the same is true for Real Madrid players. Not everyone is as eloquent as you’d like them to be, but the way he handles the questions and everything thrown at him is quite astounding.”
