It Stinks: But In A Good Way, Says Swansea City Boss Luke Williams

Luke Williams, the manager of Swansea City, praised his team’s almost flawless performance as they easily defeated

QPR 3-0.

The Hoops were thoroughly outplayed, ending their seven-game winning streak that had moved them up to 14th

place in the Championship standings.

The Swansea.Com Stadium’s home crowd had three goals to celebrate before halftime as their team completely

controlled the game from the start, capturing 85% of the possession in the first forty-five minutes.

It allowed Luke Williams’ team to halt a three-game losing streak at home and move up two spots to 10th place.

“The first half was almost flawless, and I will be overjoyed if we continue to play that well. “I thought it was a great

performance,” Williams remarked, leaving club captain Matt Grimes to do the pre-game and halftime interviews.

Since QPR has been among the best teams in the last six or seven games, we were frightened of them. We made a

concerted effort to concentrate on putting on the right performance because we might have distracted ourselves from that.

“I believe that as we approached the playoffs, things became a little frightening, and perhaps we lost sight of how to

execute properly. With our performance today, we most definitely didn’t let ourselves down.

“We were able to establish ourselves in the game and gave a pretty strong performance.

The Portuguese midfielder scored his first goal for the team he joined in the summer by simply volleying the ball

inside the six-yard box. After Florian Biachchini got one-on-one with Nardi, it could have been 4-0 at halftime, but

he misjudged his touch, and QPR was saved.

To try to change things, QPR manager Marti Cifuentes made three changes, bringing on Nicolas Madsen, Harrison

Ashby, and Ilias Chair. Cifuentes had stated that the team’s victory over Preston over the weekend had been their

greatest performance of the season.

Although they assisted in moving their team across the field, Key took the first shot of the second half. In the 80th

minute, Ashby attempted the first effort for QPR, but it was deflected for a corner.

After a Cullen through pass, Zan Vipotnik struck the home team’s side netting in the 83rd minute, but the result

stayed the same as it was at halftime, with Swansea moving up to 10th place and QPR dropping two spots to 16th.
