RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško was allegedly on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar during the summer transfer window, as they looked for a new goal-scoring alternative after Kylian Mbappé left.
The Slovenian forward, who is under contract with Leipzig until 2029, had a remarkable 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and assisting twice in 42 games.
PSG investigated numerous striker alternatives this summer, but sporting advisor Luis Campos finally decided against pursuing a new No. 9.
In 2024-25, Šeško has 11 goals and three assists in 23 matches across all competitions, maintaining his good form. His decision to stay in Leipzig has certainly paid off.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has stated that the 21-year-old, who drew interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the summer, is unlikely to transfer next month. However, a transfer in 2025 remains a possibility.
According to Romano (h/t The Mirror), Sesko is being sought after by numerous clubs. “There could be more than five clubs. However, it is not an issue for January; the Sesko case will reopen in the summer, when the true suitors can appear with concrete conversations. At this point, no club has made any progress.”
According to Philipp Hinze of Sky Sports Germany, Šeško has a “gentleman’s agreement” with RB Leipzig, allowing him to depart next summer if an offer between €70 million and €75 million is received.
