Police presence greets Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers fans back from London after anti-social behaviour reports

On the weekend, a lot of officers were present to welcome football fans home from the capital.

Fans gathered on trains to travel home to Lancashire after Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers’ away games against London-based teams ended in loss on Saturday, December 21.

Some supporters seemed to be getting ready for a brawl when they got off the train at Preston, according to witnesses who had also travelled to London for football.

Despite the fact that scores of officers were present and British Transport Police were brought to the area, no one was arrested, and the fans were dispersed without any problems.

“Officers were called to Preston Railway Station at around 9.40pm on Saturday (21 December) following reports of anti-social behaviour,” a British Transport Police spokesperson stated.

“Those involved left the station shortly after officers arrived.”
