Everton v Man City claim made amid ‘Excellent’ admission

Everton have been praised for the “excellent” results they earned against Arsenal and Chelsea by BBC Merseyside reporter Ian Kennedy.

Although many predicted that the Merseyside team would falter under the weight of the two Premier League championship contenders, they persevered and gained some crucial points, securing goalless draws in both games.

Kennedy asserted that if Sean Dyche’s team can win one of the games against Manchester City and Nottingham Forest after Christmas, they will have recovered “admirably” from a difficult run. The team is currently in 15th place in the Premier League.

Kennedy wrote on December 23 for the BBC Sport website: “Although draws don’t get you very high up the table, the points you earned against Arsenal and Chelsea, both of whom kept clean sheets, can be seen as great results.

“Everton will have handled a very difficult run of games well if they can win at Manchester City on December 26.

Even so, the games following Boxing Day are difficult, but that’s the Premier League for you.

Everton’s defense is strong; they have kept five clean sheets in their last six games. Although they obviously need goals right now, it has been a fantastic run considering the caliber of the competition lately.

Sean Dyche will keep Everton in the Premier League this season

Everton has the talent to remain in the Premier League this season, if their recent Premier League matches against Arsenal and Chelsea provide any indication.

Their current gap between themselves and the 18th-place Wolves is four points, which isn’t much on paper.

But given the form Enzo Maresca’s team has displayed this season, it is quite amazing that the Toffees have taken two points from their previous two Premier League games.

With the January transfer window approaching and the new owners settling into their roles before the window opens, the Merseyside team’s attack may be their weakest point right now, but it seems like the number nine position within the squad could be a priority, provided PSR regulations permit.

Even if Dyche is only in charge until the end of the current campaign, Everton seems to have more than enough to last and possibly improve upon come the 2025–2026 campaign.

In other Everton news, Pat Nevin expressed his opinions about Sean Dyche’s current performance with the Toffees.
