‘A really good team’: Fisch complimentary of Washington Huskies’ 2024 Sun Bowl foe
Louisville, who I believe played in the ACC Conference Championship game last year, will be our opponent in the Sun Bowl. When you look back at their 8-4 football record, which included seven-point losses to Miami and Notre Dame, you can see that they are a tremendously excellent team. They lost to Stanford by a field goal, but I believe they defeated Clemson. a very strong squad and defeated Kentucky by a margin of 27 points.
As Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies prepare for the 2024 Sun Bowl, the Huskies’ head coach hasn’t wasted any time in praising the Louisville Cardinals, UW’s next opponent. Fisch said his Huskies would be playing “a really good team” shortly after it was revealed that Washington will play Louisville in the Sun Bowl in El Paso.
“It’s a really good team; they played in the ACC Conference Championship Game last year,” Fisch said during a press conference.
Naturally, the Huskies’ head coach also explained the entire background of Louisville’s progress and why the Cardinals deserve recognition for their achievements.
“It’s a team that, you go back and look at their an 8-4 football team that had a seven-point loss against Notre Dame, a seven points loss against Miami,” Fisch noted, highlighting how the Cardinals measured up against two of the best teams in their conference.
But Louisville also got a rather noteworthy win as well. Their resume isn’t just close losses.
“They beat Clemson,” Fisch said.

Indeed, defeating a rival in the College Football Playoffs is a fairly amazing feat. particularly in light of the fact that Louisville defeated Clemson, a 10-win team, by 12 points. They were defeated by 14 against the Texas Longhorns in the playoffs’ opening round.
Fisch also made sure to mention another noteworthy victory that was probably very well received by Louisville supporters.
“A very strong team and defeated Kentucky by a margin of 27 points,” Fisch stated.
Fans usually like rivalry victories. The fact that Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals won by 27 points probably didn’t bother Louisville supporters too much.
This contest cannot be taken lightly by the Huskies. Fisch’s crew must be prepared for this. particularly in light of Louisville’s performance against some of the ACC’s top teams this season. Here, UW has a fantastic chance to establish itself, and it would be excellent to have a successful season. They simply cannot ignore this game.
