Sell Before We Dai takes ownership campaign to visit Reading FC scrooges in time for Christmas.
The campaign group urging Reading FC’s missing owner to sell the club channeled their inner Father Christmas today. In a twist, visits were paid to individuals on the naughty list rather than the nice.
The vehicle made stops at crucial places, including the mansions of CEO Dayong Pang, who hasn’t been seen at the club’s stadium or training field in months, and owner Dai Yongge, whose newest UK hiding mansion in Highgate, London, was recently revealed. Other venues were the Houses of Parliament and EFL headquarters.
The campaigners have previously utilized an advertising van to draw awareness to the larger issues surrounding football ownership, including stationing it near Wembley Stadium during England’s men’s team’s match against Belgium in March. Dai has also worked at KSV Roeselare (Belgium) and Beijing Renhe (China), both of which folded under his watch. Reading fans are concerned that their club may meet the same fate.
Sell Before We Dai spokesman Becky Trotman stated, “All Reading fans want for Christmas is for our football club to survive through a sale.” This needs an owner to behave in good faith and a CEO to perform competently and transparently. With rumors stating that Dai Yongge and Dayong Pang have not been seen at Reading FC in months, we decided to deliver this message to their homes.
Sell Before We Dai, a campaign launched in June 2023 to persuade rogue owner Dai Yongge to sell Reading FC, dispatched an advertising van on a tour of London, displaying slogans and information from their campaign and urging for a sale to be progressed as well as open and honest contact with supporters.
