Norwich City column: There is one position that should top the club’s recruitment list in January transfer window.

Christmas is almost here, and Norwich City fans are excited for the January transfer window to open.

Unlike in previous years, the murmurs surrounding the club indicate that there is a desire to continue reshaping the roster, as well as financial resources to do so.

Given his start to the season, there will inevitably be doubts regarding Borja Sainz’s future, but I hope this is a month in which the attention is mostly on those arriving to Carrow Road.

My top want is for a fresh right winger. I believe it is safe to say that Christian Fassnacht’s days are short, and it would not be surprising if Kaide Gordon’s loan term ended early.

Even without such departures, the pitch lacks quality. Ante Crnac, Oscar Schwartau, Emiliano Marcondes, and Amankwah Forson have all been considered, but I don’t believe any of the aforementioned quartet are suited to the role. Square pegs in round holes, and all that.

As a result, in recent weeks, it appears that a lack of threat on that side of the field has allowed opponents to double up on Sainz, reducing his effect on games.
