Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Röhl photographed amid Southampton speculation – press call expected

Sheffield Wednesday manager, Danny Röhl, has been photographed in training at the club’s Middlewood Road base.

Speculation about the Owls manager’s future is rampant, with reports ranging from him being the favourite for the job at Southampton to others claiming there has been no contact, while Carlos Corberan and Kasper Hjulmand are being tipped as more likely candidates.

The Star reported this week that it had been business as usual for Röhl since he was linked with the St. Mary’s job following Russell Martin’s departure, with no word from S6 indicating that this was about to change as the Owls prepare for their game against Stoke City on Saturday.

It hasn’t stopped supporters from being concerned about their current manager’s future, with many wondering whether he would be tempted to return to his former club, and he has been tipped by the likes of Charlie Austin and Simon Jordan to do a good job there if he makes the move to the Premier League.
Röhl remains the bookies’ favourite at the time of writing, but the club’s media team appeared to calm the fans a little this afternoon by posting a photo of the German putting his team through their paces in training, as well as a video of Polish attacker Olaf Kobacki in action ahead of his proposed comeback at Hillsborough this weekend.

The Owls manager is set to talk to the media on Friday before of their next Championship game, and he will undoubtedly be questioned about his links with Southampton and whether he can 100% confirm that he will remain at the club in the future.
Wednesday face the Potters at 12.30pm on Saturday, looking to build on their impressive triumph over Oxford United a few days ago by finally winning at home after a long run of losses in front of their fans at S6.
