While most European leagues are halfway through the season, with England, for example, in the midst of their busiest time of year, it’s holiday time elsewhere.
Norway is one of the countries currently experiencing the close season, with a modified calendar due to the colder temperature and its effects.
Fredrikstad FK finished sixth this season, and as they look to consolidate and improve, they’ve targeted a Sheffield United player.
According to Fotbollskanalen, the Norwegian club has identified Sheffield United’s Ismaila Coulibaly and is attempting to sign him.
Coulibaly was not registered for Championship football this season, therefore he definitely hasn’t played much for Sheffield United. According to the article, he has a contract with them that runs until June 2025, and there is no mention of a transfer price.
That could indicate that Fredrikstad FK is interested in signing him on a free transfer.
The Norwegian season is set to resume in March.
