Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath has garnered the attention of Premier League clubs Ipswich Town and West Ham United ahead of the January transfer window, with the duo seeking for information about the forward, according to Tutto Mercato.
An interesting and superb balance has been found by Michael Carrick this season. When they bought Tommy Conway from Bristol City for £4.5 million, there was a big doubt over how they were going to get the best out of him and their current number nine, Latte Lath, who scored 16 goals in the previous campaign.
It’s worked out beautifully, with the pair of them still enjoying excellent form despite not starting every single match. This didn’t come without any aches and pains though. The Ivorian had a tough start to this season but has clearly picked up the pace over the last month-and-a-half, scored six goals in his last 11 outings.

There was a chance Latte Lath had left late in the summer timeframe. Boro will have competition in the forthcoming winter window to retain the 25-year-old after a successful campaign.
Ipswich and West Ham are looking at Emmanuel Latte Lath ahead of January
According to Italian site Tutto Mercato, both the Tractor Boys and Hammers have “asked for information” on the striker.
Ipswich tried to sign the Ivorian late in the summer for a rumoured amount of £20 million. Latte Lath was pulled out of Boro’s trip to face Cardiff City on deadline day due to a prospective deal, which did not happen.
The season-ending leg injury suffered by the West Ham striker in a vehicle accident last week has left a vacuum in Julien Lopetegui’s squad that Latte Lath may fill.
According to Tutto Mercato, Boro’s number nine, who formerly played for Atalanta in Italy before joining the Teessiders for £4.3 million two summers ago, is attracting interest from German top league teams.
In a transfer market with few open striker alternatives, it is not surprising to hear about clubs interested in signing Latte Lath. His agent, Matthias Veneroso, is clearly not either.
He recently informed Tutto Mercato that Latte Lath is back to scoring. Eight goals in the first half of the tournament, and we expect something to happen in January. He is an attacker, and attackers are always the centre of attention in the January market.
Middlesbrough must require a King’s ransom to let Latte Lath leave
For the past year or two, the striker’s inherent talent has been on full display. His level of performance, especially given the position he plays, will always draw the attention of potential suitors.Boro won’t feel pressured to let him go.
His contract with the club continues until 2027, and they chose not to let him leave in the summer for £20 million; why should they allow him leave for anything less than £25 million in January? “They shouldn’t,” is the answer.
At least now, if they were persuaded to part ways with Latte Lath, they know Conway is happy in the squad and can do a good job for the team, but that shouldn’t make them want to break up their striker duo act.
