Gary O’Neil sends stark warning to incoming new Wolves boss Vitor Pereira

According to O’Neil’s final news conference, there are two major areas in which Wolves are struggling that anyone taking over the hot seat needs to be aware of.

The 41-year-old claimed Wanderers are seriously lacking a central defender who possesses both physicality and speed.O’Neil thinks that Maximilian Kilman’s absence has been extremely expensive, and that Yerson Mosquera’s chronic knee ailment has made matters worse.

Following Saturday’s devastating 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town, O’Neil remarked, “We’re not blessed with loads of defenders, and we’re definitely not blessed with lots of physicality in defense.”

“Yerson was excellent pace-wise, aerially. Max Kilman was excellent physically, pace-wise and aerially. We don’t have one of those now that are good at both of those.

Gary O'Neil thinks Wolves are in dire need of a new centre-back who is both quick and strong.

The Old Gold and Al Shabab manager Vitor Pereira are in advanced negotiations, and it appears that Pereira will become the new head coach. Since the new manager has won four league titles during stints in Portugal, Greece, and China, he definitely doesn’t need advice, but O’Neil raises valid points regarding the defense’s current situation.
