How significant was it for you to make the winning penalty shot? I believe the supporters’ celebrations say a lot, and we needed to win this game, therefore the outcome was positive. Were you concerned about the penalty? I was not nervous at all. But because I was weary and it was a miskick, it was an excellent goal. Were you concerned when you mishit it? Not really, because the ball ended up on the opposite side of the keeper. So that was a very good moment. Your genuine purpose was not a mistake. When you have good control, it is easier to score goals. That’s how I went about it. It was kind of a reminder for me to control well before I got the shot.”
You frequently score against the Rangers. Are goals against them any more special? Personally, I do not feel anything. But the supporters care more about that, so I’m glad to make them happy. Did the squad play a different style of game today? At this club, you must win; you cannot lose or tie in league or cup games. I’m overjoyed that we’ve won the first title this year. You’ve won the Treble before; can you win it again this season? We are now the only ones with a chance to win the Treble, so yes. But for the time being, we’re simply enjoying the moment, and then we’ll take a break before focussing on the next game.
We frequently see youngsters coming out after games to help you warm up; are they also assisting you in scoring goals? It has now become part of my normal recovery, which is fantastic. What does playing in front of your children mean to you? Everything I do is for my children, particularly my son, who now understands football after seeing me play and how I play. I like making him smile.
