In Glasgow’s downtown, hundreds of Celtic and Rangers supporters battled before sunday’s Scottish League Cup final at Hampden Park.
This midday, ultras from both sides engaged in a continuous battle on the city’s streets, forcing Christmas shoppers to hide in stores on Argyle Street.
Before kickoff at the national stadium at 3:30 p.m., Police Scotland officers were observed on the busy thoroughfare trying to separate the two groups of supporters.
According to a cop, they dealt with several instances of officers being hurled missiles and glass being broken at a Howard Street location.
In an attempt to stop the violence between the two groups of supporters from getting worse, an officer was seen swinging a baton and hitting fans on the street.
