‘I am enjoying my time here’ – Defender Caleb Taylor on playing for Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe Wanderers defender Caleb Taylor has revealed he is ‘enjoying’ his time at the club.

The 21-year-old joined the Chairboys on a season-long loan from West Bromwich Albion on Transfer Deadline Day, and he has started 14 of his 15 league outings.

He scored in Wanderers’ recent 4-1 away victory over Shrewsbury Town, which confirmed Wanderers’ top spot in League One, and the defender claimed he is ‘pleased’ with not only his role on Saturday afternoon, but also with his time in South Buckinghamshire thus far.
After the match on December 14, he commented, “I’m having fun playing.

“The guys are excellent, and they’re a pretty nice bunch.

“They have made me feel welcome so I am enjoying my time here.”

On his goal, which put Wycombe ahead 2-0 on the stroke of half-time, he said: “It means a lot to come here and win, especially after drawing the last two away games, so it feels wonderful to win too.

“I thought it would be a good idea to score right before halftime to make things simpler, and I was pleased with the result.

“I honestly didn’t know much about it; it hit me [from the resulting corner] and then I realized it was in front of me, so I knew I had to score, and I’m overjoyed.

“There was some pressure to score since Joe Low has scored a few goals this season, and the lads had been wondering when I was going to join in, so I’m glad I did.

“Everyone is getting on the scoresheet which is good to see.”

Taylor’s goal makes him Wycombe’s 15th different goal scorer this season, across all competitions.

The Chairboys face one of his former clubs, Bolton Wanderers, on December 20.
