Fulham manager Marco Silva responded to a reporter’s question on their controversial 2-2 draw with 10-man Liverpool.
The visitors took an early lead at Anfield through Andreas Pereira, who was fortunate to avoid a red card a few minutes previously. Liverpool’s Andy Robertson received the lone red card of the game for hauling down Harry Wilson, while teammate Issa Diop was also at risk of being sent off.
Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo equalized after halftime, but Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz restored the lead late on.
Diogo Jota then came off the bench to rescue a draw with an equalizer in the 86th minute. Reds skipper Virgil van Dijk said that referee Tony Harrington was ‘nervous’ throughout the tense match.
During an interview with Premier League Productions, Fulham manager Silva expressed dissatisfaction with the obstacles posed by Pereira and Diop. “And Liverpool’s fouls aren’t close to red cards, right?” the Portuguese responded.
