Sky Sports Celtic’s experience a game-changer, says Kenny Miller ahead of final

Sky Sports Celtic’s experience a game-changer, says Kenny Miller ahead of final.

As the Premier Sports Cup final approaches this weekend, Kenny Miller, a unique figure in Scottish football who has represented both Celtic and Rangers, has expressed anxiety about the Light Blues’ chances against their fierce rivals. Miller, who has witnessed the Old Firm’s ferocity from both sides, believes Celtic are the overwhelming favourites for the match. He highlights Brendan Rodgers’ remarkable record in derby matches, stating that the Celtic manager has only lost once in these high-pressure games, winning 15 of the 19 matches between the teams over his two tenures. This statistic highlights the task Rangers will face as they attempt to retain the Scottish League Cup.

The 44-year-old also highlighted the Celtic squad’s plethora of experience. Many players have a track record of performing in key domestic games, which could be vital in the upcoming match. While Rangers have clearly improved recently, as evidenced by their frustration at only drawing against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday, extending their unbeaten streak to nine games, Miller remains sceptical that they can defeat Celtic in this crucial match and claim city bragging rights at Mount Florida on Sunday.

“It will be a tight affair, as they always are,” the former Scotland striker told BetFred. “Celtic have performed better in recent Old Firm games, but the outcomes have been quite close, and I don’t expect this to change. It might be won by a single goal. “I’d like to be confident and predict a Rangers victory, but this Celtic team is the favourites for a reason, and it’s not just because of the manager’s record, but because they have more big game players and have proven themselves in this fixture.

“There are a lot of new players on this Rangers team, but could one of them rise up and become a hero, scoring a cup final goal that will be remembered forever? “For either side, if you can score the winning goal, you’re going to be remembered forever, so what a chance this is for these Rangers players to step up to the plate and bring the trophy home.”
