Michael Carrick addresses Ben Doak’s Middlesbrough future amid Liverpool transfer clause

The Middlesbrough head coach feels unconcerned about the circumstances surrounding the Liverpool loanee, since the Reds have the option to repatriate the wonderkid during the January transfer window.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is relaxed about Ben Doak’s predicament as the January transfer window approaches. The youngster’s original club, Liverpool, has a recall option for him.

Doak has played a significant role in Boro’s

push for promotion to the Championship, with his sparkling performances making him crucial to the team’s aspirations, and they want to keep him until the end of the season.

The player seemed to enjoy his time at Boro, increasing the likelihood that he will stay. Aware that transfers can bring unanticipated changes, Boro’s staff are poised to handle any scenario that comes January, reports Teesside Live.

When asked about the teenager’s recall clause, Carrick responded, “I’m quite calm about it to be honest.” There’s no drama. I believe we are peaceful. In football, there are numerous things, ifs and buts, and changes that occur during transfer windows. I’ve told you this many times, but I’m actually very calm about it. “I am pleased with how things are progressing, and we will deal with whatever happens next. Ben is pleased, as are we. He is in a good place. His body language and behavior indicate that he is cheerful. He continues to work hard, enjoys his time here, and it has proven helpful for us. As long as that continues, we’re all set.”

Boro appears to be sticking with Doak till the conclusion of the season, as planned in the summer. With Arne Slot’s squad firing on all cylinders at the top of the Premier League, a return to Anfield appears unlikely.

Carrick explained why Boro is the perfect place for Doak right now: “There are no ifs, buts, or comparisons; he’s in a fantastic place here, and he’s playing well for us. He has undoubtedly made a significant contribution since his arrival, and we have enjoyed having him here. He’s a fantastic character who wants to succeed and grow. So far, it’s been an excellent fit for all of us.”
