Prior to Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup final matchup with Celtic, Rangers have experienced a serious injury worry.
In Rangers‘ Europa League match against Tottenham Hotspur, defender John Souttar appeared to hurt his groin and hobbled out in the 35th minute, just three days before the Old Firm match at Hampden.
Center-half Souttar played a pass out to his right and fell down on the Ibrox bend at the halfway line with no one nearby. After receiving prompt medical attention on the field, he trudged off and spoke with Rangers manager Philippe Clement.
Leon Balogun, who joined Robin Propper at the center of Rangers’ defense, took Souttar’s spot. At the moment, the score was 0-0
