Alan Nixon claims that COH Sports’ attempt to finish their takeover of Sheffield United is now nearing completion.
Following a last-minute drive by the existing owner, Prince Abdullah, to try to obtain a larger promotion bonus as part of the sale—one that is more in line with United’s current prospects—this protracted process is almost done.
The EFL has now granted the Blades’ potential American purchasers, led by Ohio businessmen Steve Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy, ratification, something they had been fighting for.
According to Alan Nixon’s most recent update, the consortium will not be deterred by the larger bonus, and there is genuine optimism that the sale can be completed quickly.
