Breaking News Joe Hart responds to Kasper Schmeichel’s message after Celtic development.
Celtic legend Joe Hart has turned to social media to respond to Kasper Schmeichel following their 0-0 Champions League tie with Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday (December 10).
The 38-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Croatia, keeping Celtic in the play-off spots, one point ahead of English champions Manchester City, who are 20th. Schmeichel has been an integral part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans since taking over for Joe Hart, 37, in the summer, playing every minute of Celtic’s season thus far (2,160 minutes) across 24 appearances in all competitions, keeping 15 clean sheets and conceding only 17 goals. Rodgers’ team has two games to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in either of the Northern Irish manager’s two tenure at the club.
Kasper Schmeichel a worthy successor to Joe Hart’s Celtic legacy
Hart won two Scottish Premier League crowns and two Scottish League Cups while in Glasgow, making 154 games in all competitions. Celtic appear to be on track for a fourth consecutive league title, having gone unbeaten in 15 games and lying nine points ahead of second-placed Aberdeen. Schmeichel posted on Instagram following the draw with Dinamo Zagreb, writing, “A decent point for us away from home. Onwards we go – good to see some familiar faces.” Celtic meet Rangers in the Scottish League Cup on Sunday (15 December), the season’s second Old Firm derby. Rodgers’ team won the first one 3-0, putting Rangers further behind Celtic both on and off the pitch this season.
