Sky Sports Kris Boyd slams ‘Criminal’ Ross County v Rangers footage he saw on Sky Sports.
Kris Boyd has lambasted Ross County custodian Jack Hamilton, calling his role in Danilo’s goal for Rangers in their Scottish Premiership encounter ‘criminal’.
The Brazilian closed down the 30-year-old in his own area, wrapped the ball around him, and coolly slotted it into the back of the net for the Gers’ second goal of the game. Boyd spoke live on Sky Sports (8 December, 14:17pm) after the game about both teams’ overall performances as Rangers defeated Dingwall 3-0. “No one will ever convince this – unless you’re the top teams and you play out and everything for teams that are up against it,” he told reporters.
“I just do not understand what the goalkeeper’s (doing) – to start with plays it out to a centre-back, he was into midfield he’s going to lay it back, he’s going to go long anyway just get everyone squeeze up the pitch, try and win second balls, call me a dinosaur if you want – the amount of times teams give away goals trying this to play out from the back, it’s criminal.”
Danilo has given Rangers a new lease of life
This season has been one that most Rangers fans will want to forget because they are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, 11 points behind league leaders Celtic. They may have closed the gap on second-placed Aberdeen, but given that most fans anticipated the Gers to compete for the title this season, it underlines how far behind they’ve been. One of their primary difficulties has been a lack of firepower in the last third.
Indeed, due to Danilo’s injuries and the fact that Hamza Igamane did not appear to be equipped for the league’s toughness, Cyriel Dessers was frequently left to lead the attacking line on his own.
