Ipswich Town lost to AFC Bournemouth late in the Premier League, meaning they are yet to win in front of the
Portman Road crowd this season.
Conor Chaplin’s first goal in the Premier League would have been a heartfelt way for Kieran McKenna’s team to win,
but Andoni Iraola’s Cherries would rally late as the home team grew weary, and two goals in the closing seconds gave
the South Coast visitors a thrilling 2-1 victory.
It was coming, as Ipswich struggled to keep Bournemouth at bay all of the second half, with a number of
underperformers letting the relegation-threatened outfit down.
Ipswich’s main underperformers vs Bournemouth
Despite his persistence, Liam Delap was unable to score over the entire game, therefore the Suffolk hosts’ offensive
performance was far from flawless.
Ipswich’s leading striker for the season so far failed to live up to his normal high standards as the former Manchester
City wonderkid, now a main man for the Tractor Boys, wasted one good chance in the encounter and gave up
possession a staggering 23 times.
Omari Hutchinson, who played beside him in the forward positions, was similarly below average; in his meager 27
touches of the ball, the former Chelsea forward managed just seven precise passes.
Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric had to pluck the ball out of his goal twice, much to the annoyance of the home
crowd, who aren’t at all persuaded by the Kosovan. It was just another forgettable afternoon for the 26-year-old.
When looking at these clips, they had good reason to be irritated. Muric was well off his line for Enes Ünal to
equalize in the 87th minute, and he then broke more hearts for Ipswich by parrying an attempt straight into Dango
Ouattara’s path to score a last-minute victory.

According to the table above, Morsy was far from his typical vivacious self, who has won 4.8 duels on average per
Premier League match this season, with only 30% of those victories coming against the Cherrie.
In addition, the Bournemouth attackers’ deft footwork frequently took him off guard. He was dribbled past a
frightening four times and gave up possession eleven times, which is significantly different from his typically calm
demeanor.
