IBROX News Kris Boyd makes huge Vaclav Cerny admission after what he’s seen at Rangers.
Kris Boyd, a former Rangers striker, complimented Vaclav Cerny for his impact on the team before of the 3-0 victory over Ross County.
The Gers are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, but the win narrowed the gap to second-place Aberdeen to two points with a game in hand over the Dons. Philippe Clement has faced enormous pressure in the Ibrox bench, but Cerny has been one of the club’s standout performers. Boyd, speaking on Sky Sports [8 December, 11:05am] before the win, complimented the Czech Republic star’s importance on the Gers, saying: “Cerny, for me, sometimes you wonder where Rangers would be if it wasn’t for him. “I know its not been a great season for Rangers so far but you look at his impact and what he has brought to this Rangers team, it’s been huge.”
Vaclav Cerny has been vital for Rangers
Despite the club’s poor league campaign, the 27-year-old has been one of Philippe Clement’s most consistent players this season. The right winger has six goals and one assist in 13 league games since joining on loan from Wolfsburg. The Czech Republic international has also scored three goals and provided two assists in five Europa League appearances. Unfortunately for the Gers, Clement has already confessed that they cannot afford to sign him permanently after his loan expires. The team was unable to agree on a buy option in the loan agreement, therefore a deal is unlikely to be made next summer.
It will be a shame to see a player of his quality leave Ibrox, especially with the turmoil surrounding the club right now.
