Jaedyn Chibanga, a Hull City prospect, has returned to Grimsby Borough on loan, as confirmed by the club’s official Academy account on X.
Hull City has allowed the attacker to rejoin the non-league side to gain additional experience. He spent time with the NPL East earlier this season before returning to the MKM Stadium after suffering an injury.
Chibanga, 19, made nine appearances for Grimsby Borough in all competitions to improve his development, scoring once.
The Tigers stated on social media that he had returned to The Bradley Football Development Centre on a one-month contract. He is now scheduled to return to his parent club in early January, and they will make another decision on his immediate future thereafter.
In the meanwhile, the athlete will be looking forward to getting lots of playing time this winter to help him regain his fitness.
Hull City’s loan exit
Returning to Grimsby Borough benefits all parties concerned, and Chibanga will be eager to demonstrate his abilities again.
The Doncaster native began his Tigers career as an Under-13 back and signed a two-year scholarship deal in 2022, which expired this past summer.
He began his career with their U18s before moving up to the Under-23s last season.
Chibanga signed his first professional deal with Hull City in early July, alongside teammates Paul Iggulden and George Wilson. However, he has yet to play for the first team.
He was subsequently given the opportunity to train with Grimsby Borough and get experience in senior football.
The teenager hopes to make the Tigers’ team in the future.
Hull City has provided opportunities for young players, like Jacob Greaves, Matty Jacob, Keane Lewis-Potter, and Brandon Fleming, to advance to the senior team.
What now?
Chibanga has the opportunity to express himself and gain confidence throughout the holiday season with Grimsby Borough.
The Tigers are now at the bottom of the Championship table following a 1-0 home loss to Blackburn Rovers.
They return to action on Wednesday against Watford at home, hoping to resume their winning streak.
Hull City have hired Ruben Selles as their new manager after firing Tim Walter.
