Sky Sports Norwich City’s left back decision debated ahead of QPR trip

Sky Sports Norwich City’s left back decision debated ahead of QPR trip.

Johannes Hoff Thorup has a decision to make at left back as Norwich City head to West London to face QPR this afternoon.

Kellen Fisher was the preferred option against Luton Town last weekend, but with Ben Chrisene available and Jose Cordoba fit again, how will City’s manager handle the left side of his defensive quartet at Loftus Road? On Friday’s Pink Un Live Preview Show, our journalists Connor Southwell and Sam Seaman examined the matter and the probable possibilities available to City’s head coach. CS: Norwich’s other position outside of midfield is most likely left defender. With Jack Stacey’s current form and the way they’ve unlocked that right side, you’d expect Johannes Hoff Thorup to keep both Stacey and Amankwah Forson on that right side, assuming no difficulties with illness in the camp. The left side is fascinating. Kellen Fisher has played left back as Callum Doyle has moved into a central role and appears to be more comfortable. Thorup clearly wants at least one of his full-backs to invert, but having him in that capacity sacrificed some left-footedness and balance, limiting Sainz’s impact throughout the game. Would you be tempted to bring Ben Chrisene back into the line-up? Jose Cordoba is fit again, so the option is there to push Doyle back across to left back. He’s clearly a massive fan of Fisher and wants to have him in the team somewhere. He’s a fan of Doyle and Cordoba, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to get them all in the same team, so what do you see Thorup doing?
