Manchester City and Liverpool have been huge rivals for many years now.
Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp had many a battle over the years. The Spaniard came out on top more often than not, but he had several sleepless nights because of his great rival at Anfield.
Klopp is gone now, but Liverpool are still going strong. They are ahead of Manchester City and even picked up a great result against them recently.
Now, Guardiola could be eyeing revenge as he is reportedly interested in signing one Liverpool player in 2025.
Manchester City want to sign Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool has been up in the air for a while now.
The Englishman, hailed as an ‘unbelievable’ player by James Milner (Goal), has entered the final year of his contract, and there has been no positive update indicating there will be an extension.
Liverpool would obviously want to keep hold of the England right-back, but as things stand, they have not made any breakthrough in negotiations.
That has opened the door for other clubs to eye a move for Alexander-Arnold, and CaughtOffside claim that Manchester City are now interested in signing him on a free transfer next summer.
It has been revealed that City are on the lookout for a replacement for Kyle Walker, who will turn 35 in May. He is slowing down and has made a few mistakes this season.
The report claims that Manchester City have opened talks with Alexander-Arnold’s agents about a potential move, but they are not the only club in the race to sign him.
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in signing the right-back if he decides against extending his stay at Anfield.
Which club does Alexander-Arnold prefer to join if he leaves Liverpool
Manchester City, Barcelona and PSG are incredible options for any player.
Alexander-Arnold will have a great chance of winning trophies at all of the above clubs, and a big offer from any of them would be tempting.
However, the report claims that the Englishman’s preference is Real Madrid.
The European champions have been heavily linked with a move to sign him, and TBR Football exclusively revealed that Real Madrid are not against the idea of signing Alexander-Arnold in January.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to make a decision on his future in the coming months.
