The Black Cats are in an excellent position to show interest in the teenager. His contract with them expires in 2028, so he won’t be able to go for free anytime soon. Recent rumours indicate that the Wearsiders are seeking €25 million (~£20 million) in exchange for him.
However, because of his talent and the hoopla surrounding his brother, which in this case works to his advantage, clubs throughout Europe will be clamouring to recruit him.
Finally, Sunderland’s plan is based on getting players like him while they are young and cheap, enabling them to develop, and then selling them for a large profit. That will very probably happen with Jobe; it is only a matter of time.
