Paul Heckingbottom makes bizarre Sheffield Wednesday claim ahead of Preston clash – it’s simply untrue

Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom has had his say on Sheffield Wednesday’s recent form ahead of their Championship clash on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday host Paul Heckingbottom and Preston North End to Hillsborough on Sunday, as the Owls return to S6 after a good couple of away games in the Championship.

Wednesday won at Hull City last week before coming back from behind to defeat Derby County 2-1, giving Sheffield Wednesday their first win at Pride Park since 2006.

With the win at Derby, Danny Rohl’s side is now 12th in the Championship table, just a point below the top six.

Wednesday and Watford in sixth are separated by only five points, while the Owls have a 10-point lead over Hull City in 22nd.

Preston, on the other hand, is 18th in the table and has not won in eight games. Wednesday, on the other hand, have lost only one of their last five Championship games, winning three.

Paul Heckingbottom plays down Sheffield Wednesday’s strong form ahead of Preston clash

Heckingbottom spoke to the press on Thursday and provided his thoughts on Sheffield Wednesday’s current Championship form.

He believes the Owls performed better last season. And it may be true if we consider the Owls’ run of form in the second part of the season, which ultimately kept them in the league.
