Rodwell, Methven, Scott. What have you got say for yourselves?

Talking Point: 🗣️

I don’t want to take any criticism away from Nathan Jones, who deserves to bear responsibility for where we are after ten months of his leadership, but it is vital to remember how we got here.

When did we last hear from any of the above? I can tell you. There hasn’t been a peep since June, when they all acquired fancy new job titles.

Scott did comment in August following the departure of Paul Hart, and I agree with others that Jones is not the same operator without Hart by his side.

Charlie Methven and Gavin Carter were Bromley Addicks guests in October, and as you can guess, Charlie filled the room with large words and long sentences.

What happened since then? Tumbleweed. One dime for their thoughts.

How we are always saddled with high-maintenance, underperforming, bullshitting leadership is one of the concerns that haunts me in bed at night, along with ‘why wasn’t my father an Arsenal supporter.’

But, seriously, how about a renewed emphasis on our so-called leadership team? Yes, they have been more open, probably because they enjoy the sound of their own voices, and they have attempted to put plans into action, but with each passing week, it appears that they have royally messed it up once more.

I work in an environment where certain individuals require a PowerPoint presentation for everything, which is probably common these days.

Rodwell, together with Paul Elliot and Gavin Carter, held an open online meeting in January for supporters. The video is still available.

I commented then that it “was refreshing at least that member’s of the newish management / investor group deigned it important enough to talk to us because that is a major leap forward from previous supposed stalwarts of our great football club.”

The slide titled’squad-building structure’ and the absurd and bizarre idea of 8+8+8 were the most discussed after their presentation. To be honest, it takes me to tears. That slide did not age well.

During the same meeting, they all vehemently defended Michael Appleton, whom they dismissed thirteen days later. Rodwell also strongly supported Andy Scott’s record. It’s unclear how he continues to be compensated by the team.

By the way, I received an excellent statistic today. Not everything happened during Scott’s watch, but it highlights the complete mismanagement of those charged with running our football club.

Since being relegated in July 2020, we have signed 85 players on permanent and loan. Only five of those three loans have advanced to the next level of play.

The club continues to deteriorate and smells of mold.

When do we expect to hear next from Rodwell, Methven and Scott? The latter I suppose as we get close to the transfer window or a contrived few words about a new signing that is going to change the world.

As for Rodwell and Charlie boy. Perhaps more crap about streamlining costs, signing elite players, fan engagement and selling half season tickets. Photos of The Valley last night with about 6,500 in it are throughly depressing.

It is almost two years since this lot took over. Does the investor group collective care? Does anyone in that group have any oversight or does this management group just run roughshod.

The Nathan Jones experiment is quickly going down the plug hole and just as the players are managed by Jones, he is managed by Rodwell and Scott. What do they have to say for themselves and I include Paul Elliot and Gavin Carter in that as well. They should all be answerable.
