David Prutton expects Leeds United to get back on track against Derby County this weekend.
The Whites’ three-game winning streak came to an end last weekend as they lost 1-0 at Blackburn Rovers.
Daniel Farke’s team faces Derby County on Saturday [7 December] at Elland Road.
Prutton predicts a good game but sees the home side coming out on top, as he said on the Essential EFL podcast [5 December, 7:14]: “They’ll be a change over in personnel and management but there’ll certainly be no love lost. Given the fact that Leeds obviously lost to Blackburn and Derby lost to a Sheffield Wednesday side that can hurt you on the odd occasion.” There will be reactions, but Leeds at home is a tough one.
“Prediction: 2-1 Leeds.”
Returning to winning ways for Leeds United?
Leeds aims to rebound after a setback to Blackburn last week. A win might propel them back to the top of the table, depending on other results.
At this point, with the Championship so tight at the top, table position isn’t the most essential thing, but Farke will want his team to do all possible to place themselves in the greatest position to regain control and momentum.
Derby, on the other hand, has gone four games without a win and will be eager to put that right, making this an enticing encounter, especially between two sides with strained relations.
That being said, the Whites will undoubtedly back their chances at home in a game that will undoubtedly create a positive vibe among the fans.
