Tyrhys Dolan believes Rovers’ great week was a “confidence booster” for the group and is eager to keep moving forward.
John Eustace’s side were underdogs against Middlesbrough and Leeds but won both games without surrendering a goal.
Dolan is content to remain beneath the radar as long as Rovers maintain their solid form leading into the holiday season. “The sky is the limit for us,” he told Rovers TV.
“We shown how good we are when we play together against the league’s top clubs. “It’s a huge confidence boost for us, and it’s a fantastic time to have a game in hand that may propel us into the top six. We just need to keep it going and taking things game by game.
“I don’t mind staying under the radar because we go out there every weekend with something to prove.
“We have been the underdogs this season and I think we are sending a message to the league to show that you can’t count us out.”
Dolan earned the penalties, which Todd Cantwell converted, and the winger is determined to continue making an impact in the final third.
“I tried to be dangerous. “If you’re a winger, you should be getting at the fullback and trying to be positive,” he said.
“I tried to get at my man, and it was met with a penalty. “I thought I was taking it! I was just delighted to make something and contribute to the three points, which was the most important thing.
“I am excited for him; he is exceptional. He came in with no ego and just wanted to get back on his feet, which you can see he has done.
“Credit to the boys; they’ve made him feel like one, and the fans all love him. He is a fantastic player and a quality person, and he has adapted well.
“We bounce off each other well, and when we have the opportunity to collaborate, we do so, and we are on the same page. It’s great to play with him.”
Next up is a trip to Hull City, who are in the bottom three following five consecutive defeats.
The Tigers are looking for a new head coach after parting ways with Tim Walter, who took over at the MKM Stadium this summer.
“You can’t get carried away and the manager will let us know that,” Dolan informed us. “You can’t go into the game thinking we’ve already won because we’ve seen what the Championship is like.
“It is relentless, and anyone can beat anyone, but we will go there with the same mindset as if we were playing against the best in the league. Hopefully, we can maintain the same mindset and earn the three points again.
