‘Striker and left-winger’ – Cardiff City urged to pursue Aston Villa and Liverpool deals
Cardiff City, who are hovering just above the relegation zone, is in dire need of reinforcements as the January transfer window draws near.
The Bluebirds, who are currently the second-lowest scoring team in the Championship, behind only Queens Park Rangers, are obviously having trouble scoring goals.
Cardiff needs to solve this obvious problem by pursuing talented forwards, as the upcoming transfer window may provide some alluring choices.
Cardiff City should target Aston Villa’s Louie Barry at all costs
At Stockport County, where he is currently on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, Louie Barry is having the time of his life.
With 13 goals and an assist in 17 games, the 21-year-old left-winger’s current stint with the Hatters is the greatest of his early career in terms of final product.
Barry’s excellent League One play has drawn attention, and his parent club may recall him in order to loan him to a Championship team.
Barry is the perfect addition, according to FLW’s Cardiff City fan commentator Jack Price, who was asked if he had any specific players in mind for his team to watch.
“Louis Barry is currently very hot property, and I would do everything in my power to get him,” Jack told Football League World.
“Many Championship clubs are vying for his services. I’m not sure whether we could close a deal, but I would fight to the death to do so.
“You’d hope that Aston Villa would look at how we progressed Jaden Philogene and trust us with him – he’d answer to a lot of our problems on the pitch.”
Although Cardiff’s expectations of signing the winger may be optimistic given that Barry has been connected to teams like Middlesbrough, they may be able to provide consistent playing time over Boro.

Liverpool’s Jayden Danns could provide vital goal threat for Cardiff
Five of Cardiff’s fifteen Championship goals have come from Callum Robinson, highlighting the Cardiff City Stadium’s need for offensive reinforcements.
“A striker is absolutely imperative because we have not got strength in depth beyond Callum Robinson,” Jack said.
“Many of our strikers, including Robinson, Isaak Davies, and Kion Etete, have a history of injuries. Simply put, Wilfried Kanga has been awful and will probably return to Hertha Berlin.
“We absolutely need to get another striker in, so maybe somebody like Jayden Danns on loan from Liverpool would be decent.”
Given Danns has not featured at all in the Premier League this season, a January loan move could be just the tonic for the 18-year-old.
The young youngster obviously want to get first-team experience because the striker has made five senior appearances for the Merseyside squad and scored two goals.
With the team two points above the bottom, Cardiff needs to recruit a left-winger and a striker in the January transfer window if they are to move away from relegation.
Despite not being the front-runners to sign Barry, the Bluebirds can provide the 21-year-old with consistent Championship playing time that other teams might not be able to do.
Danns is a feasible target, and the Bluebirds would be smart to explore such a trade considering his track record at the junior level.
