Sky Sports Jose Cifuentes sees Rangers transfer exit rules change as Aris come with a counter offer for £4.2m man.
The Ecuadorian midfielder has sparked interest, and the agreement apparently specifies that the two teams can negotiate a deal at any time. Aris has initiated talks with Rangers in an attempt to reduce their £4.2 million potential transfer fee for loan flop Jose Cifuentes.
The Ecuadorian midfielder has piqued interest, and the agreement apparently specifies that the two teams can strike a deal at any time for the specified sum. Cifuentes has been a significant performer for the Thessaloniki club, making 13 games and helping Aris finish sixth in the Greek League. However, they now want to renegotiate the original deal for Cifuentes because they believe the transfer price is too excessive, and sources in Greece indicate that they approached Rangers last week to see if a new arrangement could be struck. Cifuentes first left Rangers in February on loan to Cruzeiro, but he only made three starts in Brazil’s Seria A and was dropped from the first squad.
His time at Aris has been more successful and manager Akis Mantzios sees him as an important member of the team. Cifuentes made just six league starts for the Rangers after arriving from Los Angeles FC in a £1.2 million deal, which he still has two and a half years left.
