Exclusive: Leicester City may terminate Odsonne Edouard’s deal.

Leicester City are considering ending Odsonne Edouard’s loan deal in January, according to Football Insider sources. The Foxes signed the 26-year-old on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window. However, he has not impressed for the Midlands club, and they are considering terminating the arrangement. A termination would allow Leicester to make another Premier League loan signing in January, which might be critical to their survival chances. Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte is the other domestic loanee, and he has performed admirably for the Foxes this season, scoring four goals and assisting twice. Meanwhile, Edouard has only appeared four times in the Premier League for Leicester.

His only start for the club came in a penalty shoot-out win over Walsall in the League Cup in September.

Edouard could leave Leicester in January

The former Celtic player was not included in the squads for the games against Chelsea and Brentford, and he appears to be surplus to requirements as Ruud van Nistelrooy takes charge of the Midlands club. Jamie Vardy has been Leicester’s uncontested number one forward this season, netting four Premier League goals. Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka are two additional standout options for Van Nistelrooy.

Leicester are 16th in the Premier League table after 13 games, one point ahead of the relegation zone. The Foxes’ next game is against West Ham on Tuesday (3 December), which will be Van Nistelrooy’s debut in charge.
