“The biggest fear was” – Sheffield United reaction to Crystal Palace, January news voiced

“The biggest fear was” – Sheffield United reaction to Crystal Palace, January news voiced

As the season draws to a close, Sheffield United is still in the running for promotion in the Championship.

The Blades will now focus on the January transfer window, which may turn out to be a pivotal time in the competition for a top-two position.

Although Chris Wilder is eager to bolster his first team, player departures and the unpredictability of the ownership position may possibly cause problems.

Given the fierce competition at the top of the table, getting through January uninjured can be just as crucial as adding one or two new faces.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi fear admission

When asked what their top worry for the January transfer window is, Blades Ramble’s Jimmy, a Sheffield United supporter for FLW, acknowledged that Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s departure worries him a lot.

Oliver Glasner’s confirmation that Crystal Palace will not be recalling the winger in the new year, however, delighted him.

“Losing Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was the biggest fear heading into January,” Jimmy told Football League World.

Like Alfie Gilchrist, he is on loan from Crystal Palace and has a recall clause that expires the first week of January, but I’m not as worried about losing Alfie.

“I don’t believe Alfie will be recalled, not because I don’t think he’s important, but because I don’t think he’ll be recalled.”

“Rak-Sakyi had a decent start, but he has become a vital member of our club, so losing him in January would be devastating.

“It is wonderful news for all Blades that Oliver Glasner has publicly stated that he will stay at Sheffield United for the rest of the season.”

Sheffield United ownership uncertainty claim

Jimmy also suggested that the uncertainty surrounding the ownership dragging into January is a big fear he has ahead of the winter market.

“I don’t think we’ll sell anybody,” he continued.

Given where we are and the momentum we are now experiencing, I would be shocked if we sold anyone.

Therefore, I believe that the manager’s clarity regarding the budget is the only true worry.

“And by that, I mean, who will be his supervisor? Who will have the highest position in the club?

We are only considering loans in January since we are aware of the situation with Prince Abdullah.

“With new owners, there’s a chance that some money will be spent, so we’ll see.”

After eighteen games, Sheffield United leads the Championship table with two points.

Ownership uncertainty will hurt Sheffield United in January

Sheffield United would benefit from new owners taking over right away, if only to stabilise everything at Bramall Lane behind the scenes.

Even if the agreement were finished now, it would be hard for them to make a significant influence because the winter market opening is so soon.

However, given the limited amount of money that will be available, Prince Abdullah’s known quantity is hardly the most thrilling prospect for January either.

The good news is that Rak-Sakyi will be around for the second half of the season, which may be extremely beneficial for Wilder’s team.
