Sky Sports ‘There will be competition’ – Rangers manager sends warning to Dessers following Igamane’s performance

Sky Sports ‘There will be competition’ – Rangers manager sends warning to Dessers following Igamane’s performance.

In the face of increasing competition, Philippe Clement issued a warning to Cyriel Dessers, telling him to get better to guarantee his spot in the starting lineup.

Dessers has struggled with his form from the beginning of the season, scoring only once for Rangers in the Scottish League.

The Super Eagles star was pulled out of Rangers’ team to face Nice by his management, and Hamza Igamane took his place. However, it was Igamane who stole the show, scoring twice in Rangers’ 4-1 away win over French club Nice in the UEFA Europa League.

The Rangers boss cautioned Dessers that he would have fierce competition for his position following his team’s victory over OGC Nice.

According to Football Scotland, the Rangers manager replied, “Yes, for sure. They will compete, and it will be based on who is in the best shape at the time. That is never a decision made over weeks or months; it is shown game by game.”

Igamane threatened Dessers’ spot in the squad by making a strong case for himself during the match with a brace and an assist.

The Nigerian international wasted a great chance to score when he replaced the young Moroccan forward.

Dessers got a cross inside the penalty box a minute before stoppage time, handled it, and only needed to past the goalie before he startlingly missed with his attempt.
