“I need more” – Johannes Hoff Thorup issues demand to £8.5m Norwich City star

“I need more”: Johannes Hoff Thorup issues demand to £8.5m Norwich City star

Johannes Hoff Thorup has backed Norwich City summer signing Ante Crnac to provide more end product in the future.

According to the East Anglian Daily Press, the forward moved to Carrow Road during the most recent transfer

window, bringing with him an initial £8.5 million.

The Croatian has only scored once in his 14 Championship games thus far, and fans are worried about his lack of

goals and assists.

The team will be hoping that the 20-year-old can rapidly improve his goal-scoring ability, especially since Josh

Sargent is now sidelined due to injury, considering the amount paid to sign him.

According to reports, the US international will be out for eight weeks, thus Crnac will have to take the lead while his

partner gets fully healthy.

Thorup issues Crnac warning

Thorup stated that he wants to see more from Crnac in a statement prior to the team’s match against Plymouth

Argyle this coming week.

The Norwich manager expressed satisfaction with his performance against West Brom, but he has cautioned that he

needs to produce better work.

Thorup stated on the club’s official Twitter account, “I need more from him.”

“He had a great opportunity to score against West Brom in the first half.

“He puts himself in really good positions; we just need the final product, and West Brom was a good first step.”

In the third league match of the season, a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United in August, Crnac made his debut for Norwich.

In a 1-1 draw with Stoke City in October, he scored his first goal for the team, but he has now gone six games without scoring.

In order to challenge for a top-six finish, the Norfolk team will need a goal source other than Borja Sainz, so they will

be hoping he can find his shooting boots soon.

Norwich City’s recent form

Norwich City’s last five league results
Opponent (Home or Away) Result
West Brom (A) 2-2
Bristol City (H) 2-0 loss
Sheffield Wednesday (A) 2-0 loss
Cardiff City (A) 2-1 loss
Middlesbrough (H) 3-3

Norwich has fallen to 13th place in the standings after losing three of their past seven games and drawing four of

their previous seven.

Following their draw with West Brom last weekend, they are now seven points out of the play-off spots.

Mason Holgate gave the home team the lead at first, but the Canaries rallied for a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from

Emiliano Marcondes and Torbjorn Heggem. Josh Maja completed the scoring for a 2-2 result.

Norwich’s next match is against Plymouth at home on Tuesday, with a 7.45 p.m. kickoff.

Norwich need more from Crnac

Crnac was an intriguing summer addition to Norwich, but he will require some time to get used to playing English football.

However, Sargent has taken on a significant role in the team as a result of his injury, and he isn’t yet performing up

to the same level.

The Croatian is now under pressure to perform better in the upcoming weeks, as failure to do so might seriously

harm Norwich’s hopes of finishing in the top six.

Given the Pilgrims’ dismal defensive record, Tuesday’s matchup with Plymouth will be an excellent measure of his

level of improvement in recent weeks and should provide him another chance to score.
