BBC Sports Stats a relief – Frustrated Celtic striker Adam Idah highlights goalscoring record.
Celtic striker Adam Idah reveals that examining his goal stats helped alleviate his anguish after failing to fulfil his personal expectations after coming to Glasgow on a permanent contract. Idah has frequently been the understudy to Kyogo Furuhashi, although he has scored seven goals for Celtic this season in around six full games. The Japanese striker has also scored seven times. When asked how his season has gone since signing in August, the former Norwich player replied, “Probably not the start I wanted. In comparison to last season, where we finished on a high, I expected to come in and score a lot of goals.
“It’s probably not the start I wanted, but looking back, I didn’t have the ideal preseason. “It’s just been a few days that I’ve looked at my stats, and I’ve scored about every 70 minutes. As a striker, I believe you should look at that, be proud of it, and keep going. “My goal is to score as many goals as possible, and that’s exactly what I’m doing. “When I read data like that, I just have to convince myself that it’s not as horrible as I expected. “I just need to keep doing what I’m doing and scoring goals.”
“Obviously, I need to keep my head straight, but I believe there are times when you need to remind yourself how good you are, and if those times aren’t going well, you have to be confident enough to think to yourself, ‘Okay, I’ve done this before, why can’t I do it again?'” I believe it helps me stay on track. “I am a confident player, and when I look back on last season and see what I accomplished, I believe I can do it again, if not better. “I just need to keep doing the right things and doing better.”
