Birmingham City handed news on 10-goal striker ahead of Blackpool FA Cup clash

The two teams will aim to advance to the third round, where teams from the Premier League and the Championship will compete, when they play each other at Bloomfield Road on Sunday afternoon (K.O. 1pm).

With ten goals across all competitions this season, Stansfield has been a vital member of the Blues.

The 22-year-old, who had a successful loan stint in the midlands last year, paid over £15 million to make the permanent transfer to St Andrew’s.

The attacker appeared uneasy as he departed the field as a 95th-minute substitution during the Blues’ 2-0 success over Exeter City on Tuesday night, but Birmingham Live reports he is still healthy enough to play against the Seasiders, with the issue at St James Park being confirmed as a cramp.

Chris Davies will be without several players, although Stansfield will be available.

Alfons Sampsted, Scott Wright, and Emil Hansson are all out for Sunday’s match, although they might return in time to play the Seasiders when they rematch in League One at the end of December.

“Sampsted will be out for a few weeks due to an injury he sustained while playing for his country, but Hansson will return to training in a few weeks,” Davies told Birmingham Live.

They haven’t joined us yet. Hopefully, they will return before Christmas. They will require a little more time, but they are not long-term issues.

“Everyone else has bounced back nicely. After a lengthy and delayed travel back from Exeter, we took a day off on Wednesday. They returned to work to evaluate the game, train, and begin getting ready for our next match. They’re feeling upbeat and inspired by the performance and outcome. They are doing well.
