According to the London Fire Brigade, fifteen teams, including those from Holloway and Euston, hurried to the restaurant, which is above flats on Seven Sisters Road, this morning.
This morning, firefighters are battling a large wildfire at a takeaway business and the flats above it. A fire broke out inside a takeaway business in Holloway, north London, on Thursday morning, with over 100 firemen responding.
According to the London Fire Brigade, the entire ground floor of the building on Seven Sisters Road was on fire by 6 a.m., but half of the ground floor, as well as a portion of two flats on the first and first floors, are still burning.
Above the restaurant, there are flats. At 3.45 a.m., control officers received the initial calls, and crews from Holloway, Kentish Town, Islington, Euston, and nearby fire stations arrived on location. The London Fire Brigade has received approximately 20 calls in relation with the fire.
Station Commander Mike Watts, who is on the scene, said: “There are road restrictions in place, and we advise people to avoid the area, especially as we approach rush hour, due to congestion.
“The fire is producing a lot of smoke in the vicinity and local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed while we work to bring the fire under control.”
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Once the fire is extinguished, investigators will begin scrutinising the scene. Additional updates will be provided when they become available.
Holloway is located in the London borough of Islington. The stretch of road where the fire occurred was once home to a tavern, which closed in 2004 and has since been repurposed as a gambling institution. Several more stores and restaurants are located around the structure.
