BELGIAN Pro League side Club Brugge are reportedly interested in a permanent January transfer for Saints striker Paul Onuachu.
League champions Club Brugge are reportedly willing to spend up to ten million Euros (£8.5 million) for Onuachu, 30, who previously thrived in the country.
The Nigerian striker scored 85 goals in 134 appearances for Genk before joining Southampton in January 2023 in a move worth roughly £15 million.
According to Belgian daily Voetbalkrant, Onuachu is interested in leaving Saints when the transfer market opens.
The article also claimed that Saints have told Onuachu to find a new club and that Club Brugge’s interest will ‘undoubtedly’ be maintained.
Manager Russell Martin gave the striker his first start of the season in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to league leaders Liverpool, and he excelled.
Onuachu was substituted after 52 minutes due to exhaustion, although he is expected to start again against Brighton on Friday if declared fit.
Onuachu played the season on loan at Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor, and Saints turned down transfer proposals from them and Fenerbache this summer.
