Sky Sports “The other teams are going to look” – Callum Doyle drops Norwich City warning after huge Plymouth win

Sky Sports “The other teams are going to look” – Callum Doyle drops Norwich City warning after huge Plymouth win.

Championship - Norwich City v Middlesbrough

Callum Doyle feels Norwich City’s easy 6-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle should serve as a message to the rest of the Championship.

The Canaries’ record has slipped in recent weeks, causing them to fall behind their competitors in the battle for a play-off spot.

However, goals from Shane Duffy, Anis Ben Slimane, Ante Crnac, and a Borja Sainz hat-trick clinched a big home win on Tuesday night.

This victory halted a seven-game losing streak for Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team and returned them to the top ten of the rankings.

The only unpleasant aspect of an otherwise extremely great evening was Mustapha Bundu’s 39th-minute goal.

Doyle feels Norwich’s domination against Plymouth will cause other clubs in the league to take notice of the result.

He claims the victory will bolster their confidence as they prepare for an extremely tough winter schedule that includes nine more league games between now and January 4th.

According to Doyle (via Pink Un), both the crowd and the players were enthusiastic with the performance.

“The other teams will look at that score immediately, which will give us a huge confidence boost.

“It’s exactly what we needed to go into the following games with confidence, and the supporters have seen what they saw at the start of the season with the patterns of play, particularly the last two goals; we’ll carry that into next week.

“It was a lot of fun to play, and it’s great to see almost everyone scoring. It is encouraging to see Shane, Anis, and Ante score goals.

“It was really good today, and everyone enjoyed it.”

Norwich City’s recent form

Norwich City’s last five league results
Opponent (Home or Away) Result
Plymouth Argyle (H) 6-1 win
West Brom (A) 2-2
Bristol City (H) 2-0 loss
Sheffield Wednesday (A) 2-0 loss
Cardiff City (A) 2-1 loss
Norwich had been struggling in the league, losing all seven games before their 6-1 victory against Plymouth.

They earned four points during that run by drawing with West Brom, Middlesbrough, Preston North End, and Stoke City, while losing to Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday, and Cardiff City.

Thorup will be hopeful that this victory is a harbinger of things to come in the coming weeks, as the team aims for another top-six finish this season.

The Norfolk side’s next game comes at home against Luton Town on November 30 at 3pm.

Norwich shown what they can do at their finest against Plymouth.

Norwich’s 6-1 victory over Plymouth will have an impact on other Championship teams.

While their recent form has been poor, injuries have hampered the team, which now appears to be improving.

If they can put together a nice run in the next weeks while consistently playing at this level, they might emerge as a serious contender for the play-offs.

Given the team’s recent record, supporters needed a performance like this to show them that Thorup’s side is on the right track.
