Carlos Corberan has responded to speculation about whether he is interested in becoming the next Leicester City manager.
Corberan is one of the favourites for the Leicester position following his outstanding performance at West Bromwich Albion.
Working with limited resources, the Spaniard has converted the Baggies from a midtable squad to one that is vying for promotion.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, and he was linked with the Foxes in the summer, but they were turned off by his £4 million compensation deal.
However, following Steve Cooper’s dismissal, it appears that Ruud van Nistelrooy and Corberan will compete for the managerial job at Leicester.

Their visit to the Stadium of Light was overshadowed by recent reports linking Corberan to the Leicester position, but he told the Express & Star that he was unaware of Cooper’s dismissal until lately.
He stated, “I can only express how focused I am at West Bromwich, and how proud I am to be the coach of this incredible club.
“I appreciate that there is always rumor in football, but I had no idea Leicester’s coach was fired until last night. There is a lot of supposition that may appear beyond of my control.
“I am completely focused in my work, my club, to get better form, to give fans better results and hopefully our fans don’t feel any type of lack of respect because there are always things in the media we cannot control.”
When will the new Leicester City manager be appointed?
The Foxes had intended to have someone in charge by Saturday for their trip to Brentford, but as of Wednesday, no appointment had been made.
Members of Leicester’s coaching staff could take command against Brentford, and at this point, even if Corberan or another manager is appointed before the weekend, they will most likely watch from the stands.
According to the most recent update on the Foxes’ manager hunt, the club was also considering David Moyes and Lee Carsley.
Leicester icon Gary Lineker wants Carsley at the Foxes, and given his experience with the England youth setup, he would almost likely be a popular figure.
